The Man Who Knew Infinity - Srinivasa Ramanujan

Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar was a genius Indian mathematician, made an extraordinary contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions. Ramanujan initially developed his own mathematical research in isolation; it was quickly recognised by Indian mathematicians. When his skills became apparent to the wider mathematical community, centered in Europe at the time, he began a famous partnership with the English mathematician G. H. Hardy. He rediscovered previously known theorems in addition to producing new theorems.


During his short life, Ramanujan independently compiled nearly 3,900 results (mostly identities and equations). Nearly all his claims have now been proven correct, although some were already known. He stated results that were both original and highly unconventional, such as the Ramanujan prime and the Ramanujan theta function, and these have inspired a vast amount of further research.The Ramanujan Journal, an international publication, was launched to publish work in all areas of mathematics influenced by his work. e.g.

5. Mars, being karaka of energy,is present in the nakshatra of Moon and fully aspecting it, making mind full of energy  and present of Mars in the 4th house makes him full of energy and could spend longer time in solving problems of mathematics. Though it burns the peace of the mind and since Moon in the Navamsha is present with the Saturn and present in the nakshatra of  Saturn , made him quite shy and  put him into the level of depression sometime.

His health worsened in England, perhaps exacerbated by stress and by the scarcity of vegetarian food during the First World War. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis and a severe vitamin deficiency and was confined to a sanatorium."

8. Death of Legend : Ramanujan died on April 26th 1920, at the early age of 32, struggling with the health issues and a long term disease.

Young concluded that it was much more likely he had hepatic amoebiasis, a parasitic infection of the liver widespread in Madras, where Ramanujan had spent time. He had two episodes of dysentery before he left India. When not properly treated, dysentery can lie dormant for years and lead to hepatic amoebiasis, a difficult disease to diagnose, but once diagnosed can readily be cured"

9 . At the time of death, He was running through the time of Ketu(Dasha) > Mercury(Antar) > Mars(Pratyantar) > Venus .  As Ketu acts like Mars and Mars in the chart is the lord of 6th and 11th (6th to 6th) being most malefics and a killer for the native.Mars is also karaka of the disease here attack on the native lagna lord mercury and as the time of Venus (lord of 12th of exit) started  soul exited from the body.

Ramanujan left a number of unpublished notebooks filled with theorems that mathematicians have continued to study. G N Watson, Mason Professor of Pure Mathematics at Birmingham from 1918 to 1951 published 14 papers under the general title Theorems stated by Ramanujan and in all he published nearly 30 papers which were inspired by Ramanujan's work.
